LGA Welcomes New Executive Director

Lumen Gentium Academy’s Board of Trustees and its entire faculty and staff is thrilled to welcome Mr. Peter Alvarez as the school’s Executive Director, a newly-created leadership role. A “teacher’s teacher” with a reputation for thoughtfulness and fantastic student rapport, Mr. Alvarez is a seasoned classical Catholic educator who brings two decades of relevant experience to the position.

Mr. Alvarez was selected in part because he remains Headmaster of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. By fostering more intimate collaboration among OLMC and LGA, his dual role paves the way for a seamless student experience from preschool through twelfth grade. “Research consistently shows that a coordinated learning continuum best nurtures and empowers students of all ages,” said Mr. Alvarez. “To that end, I’m very excited to work with Headmaster Mark Signorelli and the Deans and Division Heads to cultivate an educational environment in which high school curriculum and standards inform middle and lower school learning, and vice versa.”

OLMC pastor and LGA chaplain Father Daniel O’Mullane offered: “Our growth has necessitated an expansion of the high school’s administration. Bringing Peter on as Executive Director reinforces the incremental learning platform so distinctive to our classical approach, provides our outstanding faculty another layer of well-deserved support, and ensures a top-notch student experience from beginning to end. I couldn’t be more thrilled with his appointment, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in the coming school year!”
