The Admissions Process

THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS IS NOW OPEN FOR FIRST ROUND APPLICANTS

Have you already begun the application?

Welcome to the admissions process! We’re glad you’re here, and we want to help you discover if LGA is the right fit for your high school adventure. We seek students who:

  • Are eager to challenge themselves - and the status quo - by exploring new depths of inquiry with an open mind

  • Find great value in collaboration and appreciate the diverse gifts and talents of those around them

  • Consider high school a one-of-a-kind opportunity to develop the habits of heart and mind that will help them grow into the people God is calling them to be

Let’s get started!

LGA has two application rounds. The first round is open to students who are currently 8th graders at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. First round applicants are eligible for early-decision admission and first access to our academic scholarships.

The second round is open to all students wishing to apply to LGA. Second round applicants are eligible for regular-decision admission and may qualify for our academic scholarships.

  • STEP ONE: GET TO KNOW LGA & BE A CHANTICLEER FOR A DAY

Between the spring of 7th grade and October of 8th grade, attend one of our Open Houses and register for our Chanticleer for a Day program so you can spend a day at LGA.

    STEP TWO: APPLY FOR ADMISSION

The application process opens on September 1st every year. In order to take advantage of the opportunities offered to First Round candidates, you must complete and submit your application by November 1st. Our website will guide you through the application process: Simply create an account and get started!

STEP THREE: INTERVIEW WITH THE HEADMASTER

Once the school has received your application for admission, we will reach out to you to schedule an interview with the Headmaster. This interview is a crucial step in helping both you and the school determine whether we’re the right educational fit for you; in addition, interviews figure heavily into scholarship offers.

    STEP FOUR: EARLY DECISION DAY

As a First Round candidate, you will receive an admissions decision on December 15th. The school will both send you an email and mail your decision, together with any scholarship offers you’ve earned through the application process. If applicable, your decision packet will include detailed instructions on when and how to accept your offer of admission and claim your scholarship. Good luck!

A Note about Transfer Students

LGA accepts transfer students from other high schools on a case by case basis. We strongly encourage students to transfer between academic years; however, in some instances we will accept a mid-year transfer. Students wishing to pursue a transfer to LGA should contact school@lumengentium.academy directly.
