At Lumen Gentium Academy, rather than follow the conventional format of parent-teacher conferences, we invite parents and their children to participate in a traditional evaluation known as Don Rags.  Don Rags is an Oxford tradition in which teachers as a group discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the student while the student listens as an observer only.  This has the great benefit of allowing students to see themselves through the eyes of their teachers so that they may be confirmed in what they are doing well and corrected in the areas in which they need to improve.  There is an opportunity at the end of each conference for parents to ask questions. It is our hope that the Don Rags will provide an occasion for parents and their children to have a fruitful discussion at home as a result of what they have both heard.

Don Rags will be held on Thursday, November 11th and Friday, November 12th from 3:00 until 8:30 p.m.  Please see the sign-up genius for appointment times.  The appointments are assigned in 20-minute increments, allowing 15 minutes for each conference and 5 minutes for the changeover of participants.  For families with multiple children, please sign up for a time slot for each child.
